Do You Need a Driving Licence for a Jet Ski?

One of the most common questions before a first ride is — do you need a driving licence for a jet ski? Short answer: not when you're renting one for fun. Here's how it all works in more detail.
No licence needed
When renting a jet ski for fun at our base, you don't need a driving or boating licence. Before setting off you'll get a short safety briefing, where we'll explain how to start, steer and safely stop the jet ski.
How your first ride goes
When you arrive you'll get a life jacket and go through the briefing. If it's your first time riding, you can start at a gentler pace, and an instructor will accompany you if needed. Once you get a feel for how the jet ski responds, you can confidently pick up speed.
Age requirements
You can ride a jet ski independently from age 18. Younger riders can go along as passengers with an adult — the seated model fits 1–2 people.
What you need to know about safety
- Always wear a life jacket (we provide one).
- Keep a safe distance from others on the water.
- Ride sober — alcohol is prohibited on the water, just like on the road.
- Follow the instructor's guidance and stay within the marked zones.
